International Study Centre
The University of Strathclyde International Study Centre provides specialist degree preparation for international students. Our programmes combine academic modules, study skills and English language training. They aim to give you the best chance of success when you progress to your degree at the University. The International Study Centre programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde.
You can study one of three pathways. Your choice will depend on your academic background, English language level, and age:
Undergraduate Foundation Programme
- International Year One BBA
- Pre-Masters Programme
Access to University facilities
You will be part of the University from the day you start at the International Study Centre. This means you will have access to all the University facilities. They include the Library, Centre for Sport & Recreation and Students' Union. You will also have access to all the resources at the International Study Centre.
Get used to the style of teaching you will experience when you begin your university degree. You will take part in tutorials, seminar-style classes and large group lectures.
Personal monitoring and support
Staff will check on your progress and support you during your studies. You will have regular assessments, which may include examinations or coursework. Individual tutorial sessions will allow you to talk about anything that's worrying you. You can also discuss areas you need to focus on.
Progression to your degree
Our preparatory programme comes with a conditional offer of a place at Strathclyde. You must complete your programme and meet the progression criteria. Then you may progress to your chosen university degree. In 2018, 99% of International Study Centre students who completed their course were offered a place to study at the University of Strathclyde.
