The University of Strathclyde is one of five universities that have been shortlisted for the prestigious UK University of the Year award in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.

The Sunday Times judges described Strathclyde as having a “stellar year where it has justifiably earned recognition for its efforts in providing both a memorable university experience for its students and the tools to allow them to succeed after leaving in their chosen careers”.

During 2020, the university climbed a total of 13 places, to joint 23rd in the overall table - the biggest climb of any university in the top 30. Last year, Strathclyde was named Scottish University of the Year, and climbed eight places in the league tables, gaining a total of 21 places in two years.

These successes come after the University had recently risen 36 places in the Guardian University League Tables, to 15th place in the UK. In the past year, Strathclyde has also been named Times Higher University of the Year, won a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for contribution in the field of energy innovation and has now seen significant recognition in prestigious league tables.
