Your pathway to university success

We offer a range of university preparation programmes at the International Study Centre that cover all levels of study in higher education. The programmes available are:

Each of our programmes will introduce your chosen subject area as well as improve your English language skills. After successful completion of your International Study Centre pathway programme, you will be able to progress to your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde.

If you need extra English language support before your pathway programme, discover our English Language Preparation courses.

Who is a degree preparation programme for?

If you have dreams of studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the UK, we can help you get there. Our preparation programmes are designed for ambitious international students who do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry to the University of Strathclyde.

How do degree preparation programmes work?

Our preparation programmes are taught on the University campus and will introduce you to the style of teaching you’ll experience at the University of Strathclyde. Campus-based programmes will support you as you settle into life in Scotland, allowing you to get to know your new surroundings, including the University's facilities.

Discover your eligibility via our entry requirements and find out how to apply.

Each International Study Centre programme gives you the opportunity to progress to the next suitable year following successful completion of your pathway programme.

In Scotland, undergraduate degrees are usually four-year programmes, with some exceptions. This gives you the flexibility to find out what suits you best before committing to your final degree subject. With a broader knowledge base, you’ll have a stronger academic foundation for when you decide to specialise.
